Lucikätzchen

Hallo Leute,
so the other day we had some yeast left over that had to be used so I decided to bake Luciakätzchen. I have no idea how they are called in English but you translate them as Saffron buns.
They are actually a swedish tradition but I also used to make them a lot when I was a kid.
We used fresh yeast so I don't know how it works with dry yeast.
We also didn't use all the saffron (I think we used 0,1g) but they still tasted great!

I totally forgot to put the egg over the first ones so I did that while they were baking and they still turned out fine (I think the eggs just make it less dry while baking). We made some with raisins and some without because my mum and I don't like raisins that much.
Tschüss :)

Favourite Songs at the moment

Hallo Leute,
so as many other bloggers before me I thought I would show you what songs I enjoy at the moment. I basically just listen to the radio to the whole time so some of them probably are pretty mainstream. I thought that it would be nice for me to come back here in a few months or even years and listen to those songs again. Who know? Maybe my opinion about them has changed or the might bring back nice memories!

Marlon Roudette - When The Beat Drops Out
I really like that song because of its style and lyrics. I don't really understand the video to it thought...

Milow - Against The Tide
I don't think I liked his other big song a few years ago (Ayo technology) but I really enjoy listening to Against the Tide just to realx. I love guitar songs in general and I think the song is "flowy"

Magic! - Rude
Click here to watch the video!
So for some reason I couldn't find the video on youtube but I hope that the link (I got it from billboard charts) works. When I was looking for its video I also found out that it currently is #1 so I guess lots of people are enjoying that song right now!

Lilly Wood & The Prick and Robin Schulz - Prayer in C
So this song is actually a remix. The original one is way slower and very simple. It is a sad song (about the world, etc.) so I really encourage everyone to look up the lyrics to that song if your English isn't perfect.

Andreas Bourani - Auf uns
So I am pretty sure that this is the "official" German World Cup song. Germany won that and so it was played when the players returned. I love the music and the use of instruments in that song!

One Republic - Love Runs Out
I just love this song. I love the rhythm I think the most so just listen to it (and all the other songs) and tell me what you think about them!
Tschüss :)

just some pictures

Hallo Leute,
a few days ago I was hanging out with a friend of mine and I completely forgot to upload the pictures until today. I had lots of fun that day eating ice cream and taking pictures with my friends.

We got ice cream at that one Italian place in my town and it was so delicious. In Canada I never had the chance to eat anything like that so I enjoyed it a lot!
We went to the park of our town where a water playground was installed recently for the little children. Well, and for us, after we pushed a button :D
Just thought that this door was so adorable. It was so small for a door!

Car rides

Hallo Leute,
I have to confess something to you: I am addicted to car rides.
I know lots of people who don't mind them. I also know some other people who drive around two corners and already want to get out of the car because they feel dizzy. But I have also heard that the sound of a car while driving is very calming for little babies and they fall asleep. So maybe I am still just like a small baby who has no problems to fall asleep during (boring) car rides.
I would say the peak of my addiction was a few days ago when my dad bought something on ebay and had to drive to another city to pick it up. I decided to join him. Now, I think that I was pretty bored from having so long and unexciting holidays this year. I didn't travel anywhere (well I travelled back to Germany) and I don't mean that in a bad way. I am just not used to this, especially this year where I have 11 instead of 6 weeks. Anyways, I decided to go on an 6hour car ride in total for nothing just because I like being in cars.
I saw the Cologne Cathedral (Kölner Dom) though from the Highway :D

And I saw that beautiful massive rainbow when I looked back once. Sadly I wasn't able to get a great picture of it :/

Saying "hello"

Hallo Leute,

I grew up in a small and peaceful town. I went to one of the two elementary schools and right now I am going to the secondary school. I have lived here my whole life and in my opinion it is a great, pretty town.
However, during my exchange year I lived in an even smaller town with about 3000-4000 people. 1 kindergarten, 1 elementary school and 1 secondary school. Everybody knew each other (well expect me but I didn't live there my whole life) and because of that the say hello to everyone. Even though they didn't know me and I thought that was very nice. At the beginning I was still a bit confused because I wasn't used to that from home. People might smile at you if you have met them somewhere before (and sometimes not even that). However, after a few weeks in my Canadian town I also autmatically said "hello" when I met someone on the streets.
When I came back home to Germany I had forgotten all about not saying hello. So for a weeks I wasn't sure about it. I smiled at people and sometimes they smiled back. Now I am back to saying "hello" or as we say "Hallo" and it feels great. Even though you don't do much, you feel instantly better (especially if you deliver the greeting with a smile) and trust me, most of the people will smile back and might even say hello.
I don't care if people think I am weird for doing that. I think it is an easy change someone can make in their daily life and it will probably brighten someone's day.

Tschüss :)
